Adding to this achievement, we’re honored to have received the Youth Choice Award—a brand-new award recognizing the innovation that ranks highest on scalability and impact. Selected through HundrED’s Youth Academy, the Youth Choice Award spotlights initiatives that make a profound difference in the lives of young people, and we’re incredibly proud to be the inaugural recipients!
A Rigorous Selection Process
Udhyam Shiksha’s journey to the Global Collection began with HundrED’s extensive selection process, designed to identify truly impactful and scalable educational solutions. From HundrED’s database of over 3,000 innovations worldwide, only 151 were shortlisted by their Research Team for closer evaluation. HundrED’s Academy—an esteemed group of 182 education experts from more than 73 countries—then rigorously reviewed each shortlisted innovation, collectively submitting nearly 3,000 detailed reviews. Following this intensive review process, HundrED’s Research Team selected 100 top innovations from 47 countries for the Global Collection.
This meticulous evaluation not only emphasizes the strength of Udhyam Shiksha’s approach but also validates the deep impact our program has had in fostering entrepreneurial mindsets among students. Being chosen for this global platform, along with winning the Youth Choice Award, reinforces our commitment to helping young people in India build the confidence, resilience, and skills needed to navigate complex challenges and thrive in real-world environments.
Empowering India’s Youth through Experiential Learning
Established in 2017, Udhyam Shiksha is grounded in the belief that young people, when empowered with the right skills and mindset, can create meaningful futures for themselves and their communities. Our program reaches students in resource-constrained government schools, offering a curriculum that combines experiential learning with real-world projects. Led by trained teachers, students undertake projects that address social, economic, and community challenges, cultivating critical skills in problem-solving, communication, and collaboration.
To date, Udhyam Shiksha has impacted over 2.9 million students across 12 Indian states, equipping them with the entrepreneurial mindsets they need to succeed. With over 37,000 educators supporting these students, we are creating opportunities and fostering resilience across India. Through hands-on projects, students build agency and develop essential competencies, gaining a strong foundation for lifelong learning and personal growth.
